SVs CW are primarily from lectures, SV is lecturing people, giving them a general idea, he might have had time constraints, and hence note that whatever he says might not be complete. If he were writing, the case might have been different.

Also, SV might not be authoritative in this domain. Pranayama needs to be done carefully. BKS Iyengar book on Prayama would be helpful. IK Taimni's Light on Yoga is another.
